Overview

The JAA is a program designed to provide a clear pathway for students to complete an Associate degree in Arts and transfer to either Rhode Island College (RIC) or the University of Rhode Island (URI).

The Benefits of JAA:

  • 60 transferable credits that apply to the bachelor’s degree
  • Special advising sessions each semester with CCRI/RIC/URI
  • Tuition discount at RIC or URI with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

To enroll in JAA you must:

  • Be a first time college student
  • Be enrolled at CCRI
  • Have less than 30 credits at CCRI

To maintain your JAA status you must

  • Consult with a CCRI advisor and a RIC or URI JAA advisor on course selection every semester
  • Complete the General Studies associate degree and JAA Transition Plan at CCRI within five years
  • Graduate from CCRI with a 2.4 GPA or higher
  • Send the Intent to Enroll form, an official CCRI transcript, and an enrollment deposit to RIC or URI by the deadline on the form

JAA Transition Plans

The JAA Transition Plans list the specific courses that lead to a General Studies degree at CCRI and that will be applicable to specific majors at URI or RIC. New plans are being developed for additional majors at RIC and URI.  Check back for  more options.
